FOG BLASTER™ blasts electrostatically charged nano-droplets (aerosol) for the delivery of Chlorine into the air, and onto surfaces. Chlorine is a powerful oxidant - that is what makes it the active ingredient in most disinfectants. The chlorine molecule, when it comes in contact with the protein shell of a virus, destroys the function of the virus shell, rendering it ineffective. As a superoxidant, HOCl (hypochlorous acid) reacts rapidly with multiple protein targets, resulting in protein oxidation damage being the predominant reaction. The damage induced by HOCl, plays an important role in killing invading pathogens. There are many ways to put Chlorine into solution, using different formulations, all of them with the intention of have Free Active Chlorine (FAC) in the solution. As most mixtures are designed for making disinfectants for application by cloths and mops. It is important to realize that we are vaporizing an aerosol - a new technology, and as such, we should use the safest of all the chlorine-loaded solutions - HOCl, or HYPOCHLOROUS ACID.

A pre-clean of the area should have been performed before fogging. The key elements of disinfection with FOG BLASTER™ are : 1. To get full coverage of oxidation agents on all Frequently Touched Objects (FTO's) 2. To neutralize any static charge on Frequently Touched Objects. 3. To get full coverage of oxidation agents throughout the volume of each room. Our method is very simple: STEP ONE: From waist height, hold FOG BLASTER™ by hand and blast towards all furniture, fittings and FTO's. With BIPOLAR IONIZATION, this will neutralize any static charge along with blasting 400ppm Hypochlorous Acid as our superoxidant, on a 'hunt and destroy' mission to oxidize the virus. STEP TWO: Raise FOG BLASTER™ on the FOG BLASTER™ POLE, such that it is near the ceiling (taking care no to hit hanging fittings) and direct the blast such that there is full coverage of the upper volume of air in the room. This will release positive and negative ions, ozone and chlorine into the air. As ions and aerosols have now been released into the air they will remain airborne up to 10 minutes and should be left to settle. By doing THE FOG BLASTER™ METHOD, we get double the coverage of all the FTO's. The second airborne treatment settles over the first treatment and ensures full coverage.

FOG BLASTER™ generates a jetstream of negatively charged chlorine-loaded nano-droplets. By giving all the droplets the same charge, they repel each other in the air, preventing them from ‘clustering’ into larger droplets that quickly will fall to the ground. The velocity of the jetstream draws 75 million positive and negative ions into the blast, as well as the most effective weapon - ozone, at less than 5ppm. If a negative ion gets close to an airborne pathogen, it will be ionically attracted to it, and, as per our mission, oxidize and destroy it. The droplet size can be adjusted to as small as 0.25 microns, meaning each droplet can carry more charge, and, once blasted into the air, they will remain airborne for several minutes as they move in a randomised way (see Brownian Motion) on a ‘hunt and destroy’ mission. If they come in contact with a pathogen, or a pollution, the negative will attract to the positive and neutralize it. This process is called oxidation, and it is the destruction of the virus. As the droplets get closer to surfaces, the positive and negative ions NEUTRALIZE any static charge so the surface does not repel the negatively charged chlorine-loaded droplets. Based on studies from the agricultural industry, the electrostatically charged droplets get a more effective coverage on any surface because each droplet is charged the same, and as such, they continue to repel each other. If one droplet lands on a surface, and another droplet randomly wants to land on the same location, the ‘landed’ droplet will repel the ‘landing’ droplet such that it lands BESIDE the ‘landed’ droplet, thereby perfecting the coverage as the droplets seek out the pathogens which also landed randomly. On the flipside, if a pathogen is on a surface, it will still have a positive charge (otherwise it is destroyed) and the negatively charged droplet will be ATTRACTED to it, and, as per our mission, oxidize and destroy it. The velocity of the jetstream creates a turbulence when directed at objects. Physics explains this turbulence creates the wrap-around effect. As long as the object has a neutral charge, the nano-droplets will adhere to the rear surface of an object as a result of being directed by the turbulence.
